Dr. Steven S. Shayani has been the Medical Director of Long Island Heart Associates since 1994. Recently appointed The Mount Sinai Medical Center Director of Outpatient Services for Long Island, Dr. Shayani is a Diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, and Nuclear Cardiology. Dr. Shayani is also a distinguished Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology. Dr. Steven Shayani specializes in atherosclerosis, cardiac arrhythmia, metabolic syndrome, hypercholesterolemia, congestive heart failure, and myocardial infarction and has lectured extensively on these topics.

Dr. Steven Shayani completed his internship and residency in internal medicine and his cardiology Fellowship at Winthrop University Hospital. Dr. Shayani?s additional post-graduate training was at the Electrophysiology Lab at Beth Israel Hospital/Harvard Medical School in Boston. As the Chairman and President of the New York Heart Research Foundation since 2002, Dr. Steven Shayani has been the Principal Investigator for a multitude of national and international clinical trials. Dr. Steven Shayani maintains the highest level of expertise in the areas of Nuclear Cardiology and Cardiac CT Imaging and continues to be an innovator in his field.
