Could this be a clot?
Very unlikely. If you had a clot of any consequence, this would only feel like this as a “referred” pain, meaning the problem is somewhere else and the pain shows up in your low back. Nothing really works like that. You probably just tweaked the back, but if it hangs around for more than a couple of days, get it checked out. READ MORE
What are the long term effects of Prozac?
Hi, There aren’t any obvious long-term effects of Prozac, though it doesn’t do anything to fix the original neurotransmitter problem. The problem is that the body wants a higher level of serotonin, which Prozac provides by interrupting the normal metabolism. The long term may continue to see the low serotonin and unless something else is done, the baseline problem may persist. Fortunately, a good percentage of people have this level return to normal over time on its own. Unfortunately, there continues to be many people for whom that is not the case. Be well, Bruce L. Rotator cuff tear
In unusual circumstances, you want surgery before physical therapy. Often, in a period of 6 weeks, or thereabouts, rotator cuff injuries can be vastly better with therapy and no surgery. Most of the time, if it really requires surgery, you can figure it'll be about 6 months or more before you're back to normal. READ MORE
Shortness of breath
Being really short of breath without some kind of obvious cause is certainly concerning. While an anxiety attack is a possible cause, you can usually tie it back to something earlier. A more worrisome issue would be a very high heart rate that would be abnormal and needs attention. This really needs to be checked out and not sat on. READ MORE
Can you get strep throat without tonsils?
Removing tonsils lowers your strep risk, but it definitely does not eliminate it. You sound like you have strep, though it could be something else. You should get checked. READ MORE
How long is pink eye contagious?
Most pink eye is viral and is contagious as long as you have symptoms. The antibiotics are really to keep you from getting worse and do very little to make you better. You should change any eye makeup you might have used in the several days before you had symptoms. READ MORE
Is shingles contagious?
Your blisters are contagious until they no longer ooze. Just because they are scaling, though, doesn't mean there isn't virus that can leak out underneath. It needs to be dry. READ MORE
What do high lymphocytes mean?
This is an incredibly broad question. Lymphocytes may be elevated because that's your normal, but it goes up from reaction to virus, chronic inflammation, or you could simply have what's called demargination. On it's own, one reading means nothing. Have it repeated, then see. READ MORE
How do I get water out of my ear?
A week is a long time - you would be better to get it open. It's a function of your eustachian tube (from your ear to your throat) not opening. A decongestant could help. If it stays that way for much longer, you should have it looked at. READ MORE
Do blood pressure medications affect male fertility?
There is some evidence in mice that lisinopril (or other drugs in the same class - Angiotension Converting Enzyme Inhibitors) might actually have benefits for fertility in men. There is no significant evidence to support the notion that an ACEI would have a negative effect on fertility, and nothing in development from the sperm side of the embryo. READ MORE

Get to know Internist Dr. Bruce L. Feldman, who serves the population of New York.
Dr. Feldman decided to start his own concierge medicine business in 2009, in which he likes to focus on direct patient care while eliminating the red tape of insurance and bureaucracy of a hospital setting. He focuses on internal medicine, with special focus on heart attack and stroke prevention. By providing a specific care plan for each patient, Dr. Feldman is able to give patients the direct care they need.
FeldMed is Dr. Bruce Feldman’s own blend of many different disciplines that promote healing and prevent disease. Unlike the variety of disciplines and schools of thought with names as confusing as Alternative Medicine, Functional Medicine, Integrated Medicine, Regenerative Medicine and even Western and Eastern Medicine, Dr. Feldman pulls together what he feels are the best parts of each to create a practice that is singular in its approach.
After decades of delivering conventional medical care, it became clear to him that to be truly healthy requires a combination of some of the oldest medical traditions with some of the newest in technology. FeldMed is not your mother's doctor's office. It is, in fact, a unique brand of medicine, incorporating the most important approaches from around the world to give you personalized medical care with an opportunity for limitless healing.
Personalized medical care is the only way healthcare should be delivered. It is not the current standard. Your experience with FeldMed is an unhurried, attentive examination of all things relevant to your overall health, in a location and at a time that is convenient FOR YOU, THE PATIENT - be it your home, office or elsewhere. Using advanced technologies, some of which are not widely available, information becomes available to aide in redirecting you toward a more optimal health path. FeldMed is not for everyone - we don't want to be treating patients, we want to engage with patients on their health and wellness journey, assisting and steering them toward their best self. Nothing happens without a level of commitment toward self. With that, extraordinary things are possible.
His Specialties include Overall Health Improvement, Regenerative Medicine, Heart Attack and Stroke Prevention, Concierge Medicine, Urgent Care, Housecalls, Quality Management, Outcomes reporting, Disease Management, utilization management, documentation and coding, skilled nursing facilities, and care management.
He was educated at Temple University and continued his studies with an internship at the University of Maryland, Baltimore VA Hospital. Later he completed a residency at Good Samaritan Hospital and is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is a professional member of the American College of Physicians, and the American Academy of Private Physicians.
Dr. Feldman attributes his success to his desire to offer patient centered care by listening to his patients and understanding them. When he is not assisting patients, he enjoys cooking, photography, and golf, as well as spending time with friends and family members.
