Get to know Obstetrician-Gynecologist Dr. Merle S. Robboy, who serves patients in California.

Recognized as an exceptional obstetrician-gynecologist, Dr. Robboy is based in Newport Beach, California, with expertise in a wide range of women’s health issues. 

Focusing on menopausal problems, abnormal bleeding, infertility, abnormal and undesired pregnancies, pelvic pain, and other gynecologic problems, he provides comprehensive care to his patients. 

Back in the early days of his academic career, Dr. Robboy graduated with his Medical Degree from the Ohio State University School of Medicine. Following that, she completed a rotating internship at U.S.P.H.S. Hospital in Seattle, providing his with a broad foundation of medical experience. He then pursued his residency in obstetrics/gynecology at the University of California Los Angeles School of Medicine, further specializing in his field. He went on to teach at the University of California Irvine for over 30 years.

To refine his expertise, Dr. Robboy completed a fellowship at City of Hope National Medical Center, focusing on obstetrics and gynecology.

Board certified in obstetrics and gynecology, he is a Diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The ABOG is a non-profit organization that provides board certification for practicing obstetricians and gynecologists in the United States and Canada.

Holding membership status, Dr. Robboy is an active member of professional societies such as the Pacific Coast OB-GYN Society and the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists.

Beyond his medical practice, he actively engages in philanthropic initiatives. He works with Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernardino Counties, demonstrating his commitment to promoting accessible healthcare and reproductive rights for women.

Obstetrics and gynecology (OB-GYN) is the medical specialty that encompasses the two subspecialties of obstetrics (covering pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period) and gynecology (covering the health of the female reproductive system – vagina, cervix, uterus, ovaries, and breasts).
