  • What's the earliest I can get a mammogram?

    The recommendation is that you start with yearly mammograms 5 years before the time your relative (relative diagnosed at the youngest age) with breast cancer. You should do monthly self exams and tell you physician if you feel anything of concern. If you go on line and look for the Tyler Cusick breast risk calculator it will give you an idea of your risk. If your lifetime risk is >20% many insurance companies will also cover year MRIs or Ultrasounds READ MORE

  • What if I'm allergic to contrast?

    Many years ago the iodinated contrast used in CT was different. The modern contrast has less contrast reactions. If you are concerned, you can take 50 mg of Benadryl before the study. Your doctor may also suggest a short course of steroids if you previously had a bad reaction (difficulty breathing). READ MORE

  • If I have a shellfish allergy can I have iodine contrast?

    As a general role, shellfish allergy does not have any relationship to iodinated contrast. If you are concerned, you can take 50 mg of Benadryl before the study. READ MORE

  • Mammogram with breast implants

    Mammography with implants is done routinely and any good faculty will not burst your implants. You will get additional "pinch" views where the mammogram is taken pushing the implant out of the mammogram. You should have no concerns. READ MORE
