Carl Spivak, MD is a neurosurgeon who specializes in minimally invasive endoscopic spine surgery. He is one of the few neurosurgeons in New Jersey with dual expertise in both minimally invasive spine surgery and interventional pain management. This affords him a unique perspective in determining the optimal treatment for each individual patient’s needs, while using the most cutting-edge technologies.
Dr. Spivak did specialized fellowship training in complex spine and peripheral nerve surgery at Stanford University and minimally invasive spine surgery and interventional pain management at Semmes-Murphey Spine and Neurological Institute. Dr. Spivak has surgical and interventional expertise in treating a diverse array of diseases of the spine and nerves, including congenital, traumatic and degenerative spine disease, peripheral nerve disease and pain syndromes, using the most innovative, least invasive approaches.
Dr. Spivak is a member of American Association of Neurological Surgeons, North American Spine Society and Society for Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery. He has trained medical students and residents and held faculty positions at Stanford Medical School, Albany Medical School and Columbia Medical School. He has presented at many conferences and courses on endoscopic spine surgery from coast to coast. He is an instructor for endoscopic surgery courses sponsored by JOIMAX Inc.
