J. Robert Logan, MD was born April 27, 1935 in Savannah, Georgia to Joseph Andrew Logan, Jr. and Marie Doolan Logan. Robert was a graduate of Benedictine Military School and the Battalion Commander and Valedictorian. He graduated from Georgetown University where he received his Bachelor of Science as an undergraduate and his Doctor of Medicine from the medical school. He was the class president for the final three years of medical school, and in 1961, his senior year, was named the AMA Outstanding Medical Student. He completed his medical internship at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, and was selected to join the first class of Otorhinolaryngology at Emory University, a four-year program, for his residency. In 1966, Robert entered the United States Air Force as a Captain and was Chief of ENT at Eglin Air Force Base, where he served with distinction for two years, followed by (and then) eight years in the Reserves. In 1968, he moved back to Savannah with his wife, Virginia Connerat Logan, to establish his private practice in ENT, which he managed for 25 years. In 1993, he was invited to be a partner in the Georgia Ear Institute, Georgia Ear, Nose & Throat Specialists where he is still in active practice. Dr. Logan has been very active in the field of medicine, being the first ENT surgeon in Savannah trained to use the laser. He was the youngest Chief of Staff at St. Joseph�s Hospital, and during his tenure inaugurated the Otoneurology Department. He has been President of the Georgia Medical Society, the Georgia Society of Otolaryngology/Head & Neck, and the Tri-State Otolaryngology/Head & Neck Surgery, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngology/Head & Neck, and an Associate Fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy. Robert has been a very active member of the community, which includes being a graduate of Leadership Savannah, a Board member of the United Way, a Board member of the Telfair Museum of Art, a Board member of the Savannah Symphony, a Director of the Marshes at Skidaway, a member of the Benevolent Society of Savannah, an advisor to the medical group that brought Hospice Savannah to the community, and a member of the founding Board of the Ronald McDonald House of Savannah. He is a Paul Harris Fellow of the Downtown Rotary Club, and a past President of the Oglethorpe Club, the Century Club, and the Cotillion Club. He is an Honorary Member of the Society of the Cincinnati in the State of Georgia, a member of the Savannah Golf Club, the Cedar Creek Racquet Club, and a former member of The Order of St. John. Robert is married to the former Virginia Bryan Connerat with three children, J. Robert Logan, Jr. (deceased), Lawton McIver Logan (a newly elected member) and Clarkson Connerat Logan. He has three grandsons, Lawton McIver Logan, Jr., Alston Stone Logan and Grant Stenersen Logan.
