In regards to his educational background, Dr. Sinha graduated with his medical degree from Patna Medical College, Patna in India in 1974. Upon relocating to the United States, he went on to perform his residency at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in New York in 1979.

Triple certified, he is board-certified in internal medicine, pulmonary disease, and critical care medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

A leader in his field, Dr. Sinha is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP) and a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians (FCCP).
