  • Covid-19 and Meningioma?

Thanks for your question. There is no data on interaction of Lamictal with the covid vaccine. Some people with CNS disease have reduced vaccine response, but not associated with that medication. Consult with your neurologist if there are any new studies. READ MORE

  • Pfizer Covid Vaccine & Antivirals?

Thanks for the question. It is safe to take Valacyclovir after the vaccine. It has no effect on this vaccine. READ MORE

  • Need help with dosage of acyclovir for active symptoms?

Thanks for the question. First, you want to know if this is Herpes simplex or Herpes zoster. You might require a higher dose of Valacyclovir, like a gram three times a day. There are other anti-Herpes drugs, but they have more toxicity, so those must be discussed with your doctor. Second, you want to be sure these are not boils, which are bacterial and would also hurt, or perhaps bacterial impetigo. Your doctor would have to look at them to decide. Third, there are lidocaine patches and ointments to apply to ease the pain, if these are indeed hermetic. Oral analgesics are of minimal help, but a true shingles pain can sometimes be mitigated by Gabapentin. READ MORE

  • Moderna Covid 19 Vaccine?

Thanks for the question. Interesting, but no, there is no concern for your conditions. READ MORE

  • Covid positive?

Thanks for the questions. The post-COVID syndrome is being studied, and it is likely you do have it. You should see a specialist in Infectious Disease to be sure there is no other potential cause for your symptoms. About 65% of people with Covid will have immunity, but that does decrease with age over 65, so you should obtain one dose of the vaccine. I would recommend the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, as they have not been associated with clotting disorder. However, that is much less of a risk in men than in women. READ MORE

  • Boyfriend has a sudden fever?

Do not worry. Your boyfriend should be tested, then watch his symptoms to see if he needs to call his doctor. Quarantine until results available. READ MORE

  • Can I get the covid vaccine if I have Bacterial Vaginosis?

Thanks for the question. You can definitely get the vaccine. READ MORE

  • Taladafil?

Thanks for the question. There is no information regarding any interaction between Taladafil and the vaccine. Very likely it is safe, but please discuss with your physician. READ MORE

  • COVID-19 vaccine and alcohol use?

Thanks for the question No problem, as far as anyone knows. READ MORE

  • Covid Vaccine?

The two are not related. I would take the vaccine, but discuss first with your own doctor so you know the exact nature of your reactions. Thanks for the question! READ MORE

  • Should I get the second Covid-19 vaccine?

In fact, it will soon be revealed that you do not need the second dose of the vaccine if you have recovered from the disease itself. The recommendation is not official at this time, however. You will have to confer with your doctor to make a decision. Thanks for the question. READ MORE

  • I am not vaccinated yet should I get a Covid test?

Your roommate is very unlikely to have acquired the virus. You should test if you are symptomatic. It is recommended to wait at least 5 days after an exposure. I recommend your roommate be tested using that time frame, even if he or she is fully vaccinated. No quarantine is needed. You should test if your roommate is positive. Thanks for the question. READ MORE

  • Is honey good for a baby with a cough?

Thanks for the question. Please call your pediatrician or nurse. READ MORE

  • Got the Covid vaccine too soon?

Thanks for the question. We generally ask you to wait 90 days after a covid infection to receive the vaccine. Your respiratory symptoms should be investigated by your doctor. There is no guidance scientifically about what to do further about too early a vaccine, or if it can induce respiratory symptoms if given too early. It would be worth a direct inquiry to Pfizer or Moderna. I have made an inquiry, and no one is willing to speculate about this question, as there is no data. READ MORE

  • I don’t want to get the vaccine?

Thanks for your question. There are no studies concerning fertility rates in vaccinated women or men. That makes it impossible to make a recommendation. We do know that receipt of the vaccines during pregnancy does not increase the rate of fetal abnormalities. Use your best judgment, but understand that the larger the number of unvaccinated people, the less the chance of achieving herd immunity, which would allow the easing of restrictions. Google studies periodically to see if any fertility studies are available. READ MORE

  • Second covid-19 shot?

Thanks for the question. If the symptoms are due to the vaccine, and not an unrelated stomach virus, they should resolve in a few days. If they don't, please call your doctor. Many other things can cause nausea. If you have actual pain or fever, please call your doctor now. READ MORE

  • Covid nasal swab testing?

You may be allergic to the swab! Try requesting a saliva test, or, if not possible, an exemption for the allergy. Thanks for the question! READ MORE

  • How often should seniors get the pneumonia vaccine?

Thanks for the question. Two shots, at least one Prevnar. READ MORE

  • Covid Vaccine?

Thanks for the question. The Astra-Zeneca vaccine is approved for release in Europe, but not in the United States. A very small percentage of recipients developed disseminated clotting with no other underlying explanation. I would personally recommend the other vaccines, but that is strictly a personal preference. So far, they have been safe, but no one knows if there would be any long term effects of any of the vaccines. READ MORE

  • Penicillin allergy vs the covid-19 vaccine?

It is safe to take the vaccine, unless you have a history of reaction to other vaccines or to polysorbate. Penicillin allergy has no effect on vaccine tolerance. Thanks for the question! READ MORE
