Get to know Dermatologist Dr. Cheryl N. Fialkoff, who serves patients in Morristown and Bridgewater, New Jersey.
Dr. Fialkoff is a board-certified dermatologist who has been in practice with Affiliated Dermatologists and Dermatologic Surgeons, P.A. since 1990, operating out of the offices in Morristown and Bridgewater, New Jersey. She is known throughout the medical community, and by her patients, as a very caring and thorough physician.
“I cherish the long-term relationships I have developed with my patients and their families. I feel privileged to provide their care” expressed Dr. Fialkoff.
Through regular skin exams and patient education, her goal is to minimize the risk of skin cancer through early diagnosis. In addition, she performs sclerotherapy (a cosmetic treatment for spider veins).
A 1986 graduate of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Dr. Fialkoff went on to further her training. She performed her internship at Montefiore Medical Center, and her residency in dermatology at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago.
With a focus on skin cancer detection and prevention, she is board-certified in dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology (ABD). The ABD is a voluntary, non-profit, private, autonomous organization formed for the primary purpose of protecting the public interest by establishing and maintaining high standards of training, education, and qualifications of physicians rendering care in dermatology.
In order to stay up to date in her field, Dr. Fialkoff remains an active member of the American Medical Association and the American Academy of Dermatology.
Dermatology is the branch of medicine dealing with the skin, the largest organ of the body; a specialty with medical, surgical and cosmetic aspects. A dermatologist is a specialist doctor who manages skin diseases due to both internal and external causes and is trained to address cosmetic concerns involving the skin. Dermatological duties include diagnosis and management of a variety of skin disorders, rashes, birthmarks, skin cancer screening and treatment, skin infections, cutaneous surgery and the use of injectables and lasers for skin rejuvenation.
Having been awarded numerous professional honors over the course of her career, Dr. Fialkoff was featured on the cover of the 2013 issue of New Jersey Monthly magazine’s “NJ’s Top Docs”. In fact, for the last seven consecutive years, she has been named a “Top Doc” by New Jersey Monthly magazine. In addition, she was recognized in 2013 as one of the “Leading Physicians of the World” by the International Association of Dermatologists.
