Dr. Ntakirutimana is a seasoned anesthesiologist and pain management specialist who welcomes patients at his private practice, Pain Consultant of Texas, located in the McPherson Medical Plaza in Laredo, Texas. Dr. Ntakirutimana treats a variety of pain ranging from back, neck, and joints pain to diabetes, arthritis, and cancer pain, as well as work-related pain and accidents-related pain

Treatment modalities include epidural block, facet blocks, epidural Lysis of Adhesions (LOA), myofascial trigger point injection, sympathetic nerve block, nerve destruction by neurolytic agent, spinal nerve block, steroid injection, and trigger point injection. Dr. Ntakirutimana is licensed to practice in the state of Texas and maintains hospital privileges at Laredo Medical Center in Laredo, Texas. 

Dr. Ntakirutimana attended Universidad de Montemorelos School of Medicine and received his medical degree in 1980. Following his relocation to the United States, he completed a residency in anesthesiology at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, a residency in general surgery at Harlem Hospital Center (1984 – 1986), a second residency in anesthesiology at SUNY Health Science Center at Brooklyn (1988 – 1989), as well as a fellowship in sports medicine at the  University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics (2010 – 2011). 

Subsequent to his education, the doctor attained board certification in anesthesiology and the subspeciality of pain medicine through the American Board of Anesthesiology. He is currently conducting research with IT pump therapy as part of a national multi-center study to improve pump therapy for all patients. 

Dr. Ntakirutimana is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists and the American Academy of Pain Medicine.
