Is a chiropractic adjustment needed after a sports injury?
Yes, you should absolutely see a chiropractor. If you are going to ask your body to operate at a higher optimum level, which includes sports then the central nervous system that controls and coordinates all muscles and firing patterns of the nerves which innovate those muscles must also be working at its optimum level. Most major athletes have a chiropractor that treats them and most football and baseball teams have team chiropractors. I myself competed for 25 years in the Martial Arts and I always used a chiropractor as did my entire school. Not only will a chiropractor help you with your acute injury but they will also be able to tell you what muscles you are favoring and maybe help you be an even better player. READ MORE
Can a chiropractor break your neck?
This is a question you should really ask your chiropractor. He has a little knowledge to help you. First, it is very, very hard for anyone to break a bone. So, if you are asking, can a chiropractor break your neck, are you asking about breaking your vertebrae (bones) in your neck? To this question, the answer would be NO. In order to break your neck, the chiropractor would have to rip through muscles, ligaments, and tendons before there is even stress on the bony structures. Then, there would have to be such force administered to break bones. Videos online can be very misleading; knowing the anatomy and force along with torque would better educate you on this question. You also have to look for the credentials of those administering the adjustment. I hope this helps answer your question. READ MORE
Why a chiropractor for my daughter's constipation?
There are a few ways to answer your question but I will give the short version. Yes a chiropractor and the chiropractic adjustment can help with relieving constipation. The bony spinal structures called vertebrae house the spinal cord and the spinal nerves. These nerves not only produce pain but they also control visceral function, organ function. So if there is abnormal or restricted motion in the spine causing inflammation to spinal nerves and these spinal nerves control stomach, bowel (intestinal( function then by relieving and or removing the irritation to these nerves, which is called a vertebral subluxation, then the nerves can function normally and the body returns to normal function, normal homeostasis. There is simple to understand chart called the Meric system which shows where on the vertebral column of the human body will affect the organs of our body. In addition there is also the Vagus nerve of the human body which originates in the neck, cervical spine, and aid in the control of just about all our organs including the intestines. So, you see, yes Chiropractic and the chiropractic adjustment can certainly help to eliminate constipation. READ MORE

It is an advantage to go to a masseuse in a chiropractic facility in case there is an issue of concern, but a good therapist will suggest to you to go to a chiropractor for that issue. READ MORE
My mother suffered Bell's Palsy and is now recovering. Can a chiropractor help at this stage?
Bell's Palsy can be caused by a few different factors, but regardless of what is the cause, it is the trigeminal nerve of the face that has been irritated. The trigeminal nerve is one of the twelve cranial nerves. Restriction or subluxation of the upper cervical spine can cause irritation of the trigeminal nerve, therefore aiding in Bell's Palsy. So, treating the upper cervical spine chiropractically and with adjustments will help in eliminating Bell's Palsy. READ MORE
Can a chiropractor relieve muscle pain?
Chiropractic care can most definitely help reduce muscle pain. There are a couple of ways this happens, first is when someone receives a chiropractic adjustment/mobilization. The human body releases hormones called endorphin and encephalin. These hormones are our bodies pain reducing hormones. Once you receive an adjustment, there is a neurological reflex to the muscles that are in spasm and the muscle will then start to relax. There are also many different modalities that can be used to help reduce muscle pain such as electric stimulation, ultrasound and cryotherapy (ice). All therapy is dependent on what muscles are involved and what exactly is the cause of your muscle pain. This will be assessed during an office visit examination. I hope this answered your question.
