Lamberto G. Bentivoglio, MD, retired in 2005 after achieving a successful 50 year career as an interventional radiologist. He also specialized in coronary angioplasty, introducing the concept to the eastern United States in the 1980's. He brought the concept of the ballooning of the arteries to this country and worked closely with the actual inventor of the method. His contributions to cardiology and radiology are still widely used in practice today.
