David B. Carmichael, MD, LLD, MACC, MACP, is a cardiovascular medicine specialist, mostly retired, based out of California. He maintains a professorship at the University of California San Diego. A former Chief of the Department of Medicine at Scripps Memorial Hospital, and the founding Medical Director of the Cardiovascular Institute there, he also served a tour as Chief of Staff. He is also a Navy veteran and pilot, and has flown over the Orient, served at navy hospitals in Japan, and was also chief of medicine at USS Repose AH.
