Testicular torsion regret?
It sounds like for some reason you cannot talk openly with your parents to get advice and support? Sounds like this was a fairly serious health scare and you could benefit from guidance counseling to explore your feelings and ways to cope. READ MORE
Obsession with cheating?
Yes, I believe he may be showing signs of dementia or other neurocognitive impairment. You may need to see if your mother can schedule him to see a neuropsychiatrist for initial consult and diagnostic work up. READ MORE
Friend is having issues with depression and anxiety?
This must be challenging for you seeing your friend suffer so much. I do not believe the doctor would likely consult with you on this matter due to confidentiality. However, maybe your friend could use an intervention with a small gathering 2-3 close relationships and see if one objective could be your friend allowing you to join in a doctor visit, that way informed consent and release of information are assumed granted in the session (by virtue of your friend permitting you in their session). READ MORE
Can a psychologist help with chronic pain?
Yes, psychologists, many of us, have training consistent with chronic pain management. READ MORE
Please suggest your opinion?
It is in my professional opinion you should be in at weekly therapy along with medication. Those medications are often prescribed for antipsychotic, anti-anxiety and anti-insomnia purposes. You're reporting auditory hallucinations and severe anxiety along with agoraphobia. These conditions are treatable with medications and effective psychotherapy. READ MORE
Anxiety and OCD diagnosis?
Please see your prescriber and pharmacist right away. Given your current reported symptoms and medication effects, it is not okay to expect these side effects as tolerable or will simply go away or get better. You should always consult the person who prescribed for you as they have a medical responsibility to care for your conditions and avoid harm. READ MORE
Is this normal?
Have you asked those close to you confirm or deny hearing those voices too? Voices you hear that others do not may be akin to auditory hallucinations. You should fully consult a mental health professional in person to rule out auditory perceptual distortions and their possible causes such as short-term/long-term hallucinogenic abuse, traumatic head injury, or other cause associated with prodromal schizophrenia, mania, schizoaffective disorder. READ MORE
Do I have PMDD or anxiety neurosis?
Thank you for this query, although my observation of your writing leads me to believe you are much older than 14; example, the use of "thrice." Regardless, I am not a medical doctor qualified to provide a medical diagnosis especially without full examination, history, labs, etc. You will need to be brave, despite your fears, and ask your mother to seek medical attention for you promptly. You should see both a primary care physician and an OB/GYN. Some of your self reported symptoms sound like mild conditions of COVID? I believe it's in your best interest to insist on prompt medical attention. READ MORE
Cardiology concern?
It sounds like you have done all the right things to explore root causes. Unfortunately, COVID has left many people with residual, lingering cardiopulmonary irregularities. I would get on a good regimen of heart healthy nutrition and supplements. Continue with light cardio and weight training routines and develop self talk strategies that are less emotionally provoking of fear. Your diagnostics for heart problems indicated you are healthy per your statements here. I would try to avoid reacting to tachycardia incidents by focusing on relaxation breathing techniques. Check back in with cardiologist if needed. READ MORE
I found a lump a solid one?
I would suggest it seems you have an emergency condition, as such you are entitled to admit yourself to a local Emergency Department. They are legally bound to consult, examine, and treat you (they have a legal duty to this care regardless of your ability to pay). You tell them of acute pain and the lump, and they are likely to X-ray and run CT scan. They may also do labs such as blood draw. You should not ignore this situation and demand medical attention. READ MORE
Should I go to a hospital or a doctor with new PTSD symptoms?
Choosing a provider might depend on your insurance coverage. I recommend someone who already knows your full health history and with whom you have a good rapport. I would suggest getting an official doctor's note to take to the employer that you are exempt from your work duties until this gets resolved. You may need to choose employment which supports your mental health care needs. READ MORE
Psychiatric help immediately?
I'm a psychologist and do not prescribe. Sounds like you need to walk into a public mental health center and start from the beginning, suggest getting in to see a psychiatric nurse practitioner. READ MORE
I feel like there's not any other option besides suicide?
Suicide is a choice, we all have choices how to live and die. I hope you forgive yourself for your lackings, and we all have lacking, and finding a new purpose. I hope you will choose to set new goals vs. a way out of your life. I hope you choose mercy and compassion and give yourself another choice to live...you're worth it. READ MORE
I am feeling depressed after having a stillbirth?
I am so sorry for your loss. It sounds like some counseling may be indicated to address depression and loss. READ MORE
Mixing xanax xr with xanax ir?
This is not a good long-term solution to your generalized anxiety. Therapy, lifestyle changes, and other forms of anxiotlytic medication are best practices. Benzodiazepines are best used for panic disorder and/or acute stress disorder. READ MORE
I have bipolar with psychotic symptoms?
Bipolar disorders are complex, and having addiction recovery increases the complexity and need for close self-monitoring of stress, self care, and relapse potential. Medication use is voluntary and a personal choice. With that being said, if you personally do better on medication than off, then it's reasonable to maintain its use. For some people, lifelong use means they maintain employment, meaningful relationships, sobriety, and sanity. READ MORE
Is this schizophrenia?
Well, it's a curious thing having so young a person using this venue to ask about their mental health. Regardless, it's not advisable to provide a diagnosis in this context. Rather, you should talk to your parents about how you feel. Still, olfactory hallucinations are rarely seen in mental illness. Olfactory hallucinations are more likely due to some other form of organic condition such as neuropathic conditions (e.g., tumors). I wonder about trauma in your life and anxiety conditions stemming from trauma...obsessions and compulsions, feelings of isolation, loneliness for instance. I would not keep your feelings and these experiences a secret, talk to a supportive, caring adult. READ MORE
Anti-anxiety medicine?
I would suggest you develop lifestyle changes (e.g., exercise, good nutrition, good sleep hygiene) to mitigate effects of stress on learning and only use medications as an adjunct to control for severe anxiety symptoms. Stress, when severe, prolonged, and poorly managed interferes with attention, concentration, memory, and ultimately learning efficiently. Many anxiolytics have some form of mild to moderate sedation action so they can affect alertness, focus, and energy levels (particularly benzodiazepines). Some people, depending upon the type of anxiety medication, will dose in the evening near bedtime which helps with calm and readiness with sleep. READ MORE
Schizoaffective disorder?
Since you have voice and choice in your own treatments, you can tell your new therapist about all your symptoms and advise them you're choosing to first focus on mood stabilization. You have certain rights to your health care choices (unless you are under court ordered treatments). You should be honest with your providers about your condition, symptoms, needs, and fears regarding your health/health care so that way, everyone can be on the same page about your health and wellness. READ MORE
My seven year old son is trying to masturbate?
Children learn to masturbate in infancy, we are born sexual, skin and touch being primary sensori-sensual aspects of ourselves (the brain is our second largest "sex organ," the skin being the first). It may be likely he is trying self soothing strategies, and boredom could also be a trigger for your child. This activity is not necessarily an indication of pathology or a reaction to anything he may have seen or witnessed. You can respectfully and gently redirect your child, avoiding panic or shame, into alternative self-soothing or mentally stimulating activities. Working with sand or play-doh, helping with chores, and eventually talking with your child about their body in healthy, non-reactive ways. There are plenty of good children's books on this subject matter to help guide you. READ MORE
