Can I get a temporary crown on my implant?
Generally it is best not to put a temporary crown on the implant. Putting pressure on a healing implant can compromise the integration with the bone and may lead to failure of the implant. READ MORE
How long after root canal I will get a crown?
You can get a crown anytime after completion of the root canal. Be sure the dentist who completed the procedure gives you the clearance to proceed with the crown. As soon as that happens you should schedule the crown to protect the tooth from fracturing. READ MORE
What water flosser is best with braces?
The best one is the one you will use. I would read up on the options and then decide which one will best suit your needs. Items to look at: Phillips Air/water flosser, Vybe water flosser, Waterpik flosser. Hope this helps. READ MORE
Can you replace all molar teeth with implants?
Yes, you can, but it is not always advisable to place one implant for every missing tooth. Sometimes an implant bridge is a better option. A lot depends upon the bone and tissue contours. This is a discussion to have with your dentist who can then either place the implants him/herself or coordinate treatment with a surgeon. I hope this helps. READ MORE
Can you get dental implants if you have had dentures for years?
Yes, very often you can get dentures. You need to speak with your dentist/surgeon to be sure you have adequate bone to place the implants. READ MORE
Amoxicillin doses
The problem with stopping an antibiotic early is that the bacteria causing the infection can build resistance so that the next time you need to take the antibiotic for a similar issue, it may not be as effective. I would recommend finishing the last 3. READ MORE
Can dentures be permanently fixed?
Dentures attached to implants are mostly permanent. They can be unscrewed if there is an issue or concern, you would need your dentist to do that, so in essence, implant retained dentures are "permanent". READ MORE
Should you keep brushing bleeding gums?
Yes, continue brushing, and be sure you are flossing. READ MORE
How can I straighten my teeth without braces or Invisalign?
Crowns, veneers, or a combination of both is an alternative to braces. This disadvantage is that you need to remove the tooth structure to place these restorations. Depending on the amount of crowding, crowns and veneers may not work. The most conservative option is typically the best and that would be orthodontic treatment. READ MORE
What helps blood clot after tooth extraction?
If you are asking, "what is the reason my blood clots", the reason is that the platelets in our blood make it more "sticky" so to speak, so that a clot forms. If you are asking how to make the clot heal faster or go away, I would tell you that you want to have a blood clot as that is the beginning of the healing process and over time soft tissue and bone will replace the clot. Good oral home care and a healthy diet will improve healing. READ MORE
Can I use Eugenol oral application while on Xarelto?
There is no contraindication to oral eugenol with your medications. Anticoagulants are not advised. READ MORE
Dry mouth?
Is your diabetes well-controlled? If you have periodontal disease this can exacerbate your diabetes. If you are taking medications, I would discuss the dry mouth with your doctor to see if there are alternatives that have less of an effect on saliva. If you smoke, that contributes to dry mouth. If you are well controlled and without periodontal disease, there are several products available that can help, though short term. Look for xylitol containing mints and gum as they stimulate saliva. There are also mouth sprays that can be used. Weldental.com has several products and then there are options in the Biotene product line. There are others as well. If you are a mouth breather, I would suggest finding a myofunctional therapist to help you to change that habit. READ MORE
What antibiotic is good for gingivitis?
Gingivitis is generally not treated with gingivitis. First and foremost, you need to get to your dentist for an exam and to get your teeth cleaned. Then your home care will be key - electric toothbrush, daily flossing. Seeing the dentist will help determine the source and best plan of action for you and your particular situation. I hope this helps. READ MORE

Will my teeth be yellow after braces?

There's a gap between my new crown and gum line?
Crown margins above the gum line create a more cleansable area for you when it comes to home care. However, if this is problematic for you, you should have a discussion with your dentist. It does not mean the crown was done incorrectly. READ MORE
Does gingivitis go away?
With regular dental hygiene appointments and good home care (flossing daily and brushing 2 times daily minimum) gingivitis will resolve. However, if there are underlying medical issues, medications that contribute, mouth breathing, this makes resolution more difficult and home care even more important. Left untreated, gingivitis can lead to periodontitis (loss of both tooth and gum tissue support) which can lead to tooth loss. Be proactive now! READ MORE
Do fillings hurt without an injection?
If there is pain, then you need to ask for anesthesia. Some fillings can be done anesthetic free. Many times this procedure is done using a laser. A lot depends on the sensitivity of your teeth as well. Again, do not hesitate to ask for an injection if there is any discomfort. READ MORE
Is it normal for veneers to fall?
It is not ideal for a veneer to fall off within a month. It may be that the biting forces on the veneer need to be adjusted in order for the veneer to stay on. Sometimes a full crown is a better option. I would return to your dentist to re-evaluate your bite. There also could have been some contamination during the cementation process that could result in the veneer coming off. READ MORE
