1. Sensitivity can be caused by clenching or grinding or be caused by exposed detninal tubules or be caused by gingival recession. 2. Poor oral hygiene is what causes tooth decay. Extensive decay will cause tooth sensitivity. 3. A good oral exam should pinpoint the cause of your tooth sensitivity. READ MORE
What is the treatment suggested for treating dental plaque and soreness in the gums?
Regarding dental plaque, brushing and flossing are appropriate remedies. Oral soreness requires appropriate diagnosis to differentiate the etiology of the soreneness. Such symptoms could be due to either trauma, like due to clenching, or due to toxicologic inflammation, or due to pathogenic organisms. A good biologic dentist could utlize energy resonance testing to identify the cause. Specifically testing with arnica and hypericum could identify the presence of trauma if these remedies resonate with intraoral soreness. Testing with homeopathic chem detox could identify the presence of VOCs if there is resonance with the soreness. Pathogen testing is more involved. Bacteria block the flow of energy. Resonance testing will implicate the specific bacteria, the specific virus, the specific yeast variant that could be cause. READ MORE

First of all, any restorative "filling" material needs to be biocompatible to the patient's immune system. The pertinent factors to maximizing the duration of a restorative material include (1) proper insertion technique; (2) patient compliance with good oral hygiene protocol; and (3) the nightly use of a protective nightguard. Can novocaine be used during cleanings?
Two points. One, I do believe that Novocaine is no longer commercially available. I believe Septocaine is the most commonly used anaesthetic. There is no problem requesting and using an anaesthetic. Two, if sensitivity is the concern with the teeth consider using a shock absorbing nightguard. READ MORE
Do fillings need to be replaced?
Two important points. If you have used low toxic biocompatible restorative material like bonded composite, then the filling should be adequate in the posterior areas of the mouth as long as there is no tooth decay. However, all composites over time do break down and do stain which your dentist needs to check for with periodic oral examination. READ MORE
Can calcium deficiency impact teeth?
Yes, healthy teeth and bone require adequate calcium and vitamin D intake. First of all, avoid use of sugary and acidic foods. Phosphates in carbonated drinks can block calcium absorption. There are many foods imbued with calcium that can contribute to the recommended daily 1200 mg of calcium. These include 1 cup of baked beans provide 150 mg of calcium; canned salmon provides about 180 mg of calcium; eat calcium fortified foods like soy, rice and fish; one cup of oatmeal provides 100 mg plus of calcium; veggies like spinach and broccoli provide about 100 mg of calcium per serving; almonds provide 100 mg of calcium per serving; eggs are a good source of Vitamin D; one can supplement with over-the counter calcium supplementation. I underwent a root canal treatment and it is paining again. What could be the reason?
The simple answer is that any UNRESOLVED pathogen or toxin could be the cause of the tooth pain. First of all did the dentist clean and sanitize completely the pulp canal system? Are there any systemic health burdens like Lyme Disease or like HPV present, for these could be the source of pain. Did the dentist identify and detoxify all of the Herpes viruses present? How about were yeast variants identified and detoxified? Bacterial pathogens need to be identified and detoxified. Pathogens and toxins will settle in loci burdened with trauma, pathology or disease like in unhealthy root canal tissues. READ MORE
What if only one tooth is crooked?
the cause for the presence of just one crooked tooth is never a simple problem. A crooked tooth is typically the result of either the jaw bones not developing to their full potential due to either airway, tonsils, or genetics interferring with proper development, or due to interferring oral-facial habits like finger sucking. Most dentists will treat such issues comprehensively. At a younger age before age 7.5 functional appliance therapy can non surgically expand the dental arches or rectify the oral-facial habit.
