Dr. Patel is a fellowship-trained podiatrist treating all aspects of foot and ankle pathologies at Potomac Podiatry Group. Throughout her academic career, Dr. Patel obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biomathematics from Rutgers College, and her Master of Science degree in Health and Biopharmaceutical Economics from Lehigh University. She earned her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine where she received the Dr. Sidney Solid Award for accomplishments and service to the podiatry community, research, service to the college, excellent clinical skills and general excellence.
Subsequently, she had extensive training in foot and ankle trauma and reconstructive surgery from her residency at Jefferson Health, and served as Chief Resident in her final year of training. She then went on to complete a fellowship in foot and ankle surgery with Active Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Group, focusing on advanced techniques of sports medicine, ankle arthroscopy, and total joint and ankle replacements in addition to trauma and foot and ankle reconstruction procedures.
Passionate about her profession, the doctor is a Diplomate of the American Board of Podiatric Medicine (DABPM), which exists to offer podiatric physicians a comprehensive board qualification and certification process. She is also a member of several professional organizations, including the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, the American Podiatric Medical Association, and the Virginia Podiatric Medical Association.
In her professional experience, Dr. Patel maintains active privileges at the Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center, Inova Fair Oaks Hospital, and Lake Ridge Ambulatory Surgical Center. She is also actively involved in research in the field of foot and ankle surgery, having presented research at national meetings, and enjoys teaching and lecturing at all levels.
