George Waring IV, MD, FACS, is a pioneer in the field of ophthalmology practicing in the Mt. Pleasant region of South Carolina. Dr. Waring is the Director of Refractive Surgery at Magill Vision Center, Course Director for the annual American Academy of Ophthalmology Laser Refractive Surgery Course, Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology and Director of Refractive Surgery at the Medical University of South Carolina-Storm Eye Institute; to name a few. Board certified and highly active in the field, Dr. Waring has served as the World Surgical Monitor for AcuFocus, Inc., and teaches ophthalmic surgeons worldwide advanced techniques in the surgical correction of presbyopia. Aside from tending to future healthcare professionals and his patients, Dr. Waring IV is a founding member of the Cornea, External Disease, and Refractive Surgery Society; as well as, the American College of Ophthalmic Surgeons. He has been recognized as one of the nation�s Top Doctors in Ophthalmology by Castle Connolly�s Guide to America�s Top Ophthalmologists for his outstanding achievements and dedication to the field; and is the Senior Editor for the American Academy of Ophthalmology�s Ophthalmic News and Education Subcommittee on Refractive Management, also contributing over 100 publications based off of his clinical research.
