Get to know Pediatric Neurologist Dr. Neil Kulkarni, who serves patients in Columbus, Ohio.

Dr. Kulkarni is an attending pediatric neurologist at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. His clinical interests span the many facets of child neurology with special interest in the genetics of epilepsy.

Alongside his clinical role, he serves as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at The Ohio State University College of Medicine.

The doctor’s acclaimed career in medicine began after he earned his medical degree from the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey in 2012. He then went on to complete his pediatrics and child neurology training at Phoenix Children’s Hospital and the Barrow Neurological Institute, and his fellowship in pediatric clinical neurophysiology at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. 

Continuously advancing his professional development, Dr. Kulkarni is board-certified in general neurology, child neurology, and clinical neurophysiology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). The ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to serving the professions of psychiatry and neurology.

Furthering his interests in his profession, he is a member of the Child Neurology Society, the American Epilepsy Society, and the American Clinical Neurophysiology Society.

Neurology is a branch of medicine dealing with disorders of the nervous system. A child neurologist, or pediatric neurologist, is a doctor who treats children who have problems with their nervous system. Problems in the nervous system can start in the brain, spine, nerves, or muscles. These can lead to problems such as seizures, headaches, or developmental delays.
