How long after septoplasty will I look normal?
A septoplasty is a procedure designed to improve your breathing and generally does not result in any significant swelling so you should expect to look normal within a week or so following your surgery. READ MORE
Is it normal to feel your breast implants?
That is not totally unusual. It depends on a number of issues such as the size of the implants that were placed, the placement of your implants above or below your pectoralis muscle, the size/shape of your breasts prior to surgery, the thickness of your chest wall tissue, etc. Oftentimes, patients can feel the implant along the underside of their breasts, but in most patients, they are not palpable. READ MORE
Does fat grow back after liposuction?
The fat will not grow back in the areas that were suctioned as those fat cells were removed to a large extent. However, if you gain weight after the procedure you may gain it in adjacent areas that were not treated. READ MORE
Do all soft cleft palate surgeries require dental treatment as well?
Not necessarily. A cleft of the soft palate is much less severe than a complete cleft of the hard and soft palate that also involves the alveolar margin (tooth-bearing) portion of the jaw where future dental and Orthodontic treatment is frequently necessary. READ MORE
I am not happy with my tummy tuck. What should I do?
I would recommend that you go back to your surgeon and calmly express your concerns. If you don’t feel like your concerns are taken seriously then I would recommend seeking another opinion. READ MORE
Do you lose feeling in your nipples after breast implants?
That is very unusual unless your surgeons places the implants through a peri-areolar approach. Implants are most frequently placed through an inframammary approach (an incision along the underside of the breast) or in some cases through a transaxillary approach (armpit incision), and through these approaches, it is not a frequent occurrence (unless very large implants are placed). Nipple detachment after breast augmentation?
So sorry you have experienced such difficulties following your surgery. This can be a very difficult problem - non-healing wounds with implants in place beneath the skin. You need to be seen by a qualified surgeon frequently to monitor how these wounds are healing. Trying to re-suture them at this point is fraught with difficulties, so I would recommend continued conservative wound care, dressing changes, topical antibiotics and possibly the need for systemic antibiotics. Once the wounds have healed and the scars have softened, revisional surgery can be performed to minimize your scarring. READ MORE
How often should breast implants be checked?
I recommend that my breast implant patients follow up with me on an annual basis. READ MORE
Can you drink coffee after breast augmentation?
Drinking coffee is not a problem after this surgery. READ MORE
Are you put to sleep for eyelid surgery?
Patients can choose to have a general anesthesia but most patients are fine with I.V. conscious sedation. READ MORE
How do you know if a breast implant is leaking?
Oftentimes a change in the appearance of the implant on physical examination can indicate that an implant may be ruptured but imaging the breast with mammography an ultrasound or an MRI examination is more precise. READ MORE
Can a nose job improve breathing?
Absolutely. Oftentimes treatment of the septum is done as part of a rhinoplasty and grafts obtained at the time of a septoplasty(spreader grafts)are used to improve breathing in a patient. READ MORE
What breast implants look the most natural?
The newest, smooth, round, highly cohesive silicone gel-filled implants are the best implants currently available. There are many variables that impact how “natural” your implants will look such as your current breast size, the amount of subcutaneous fat on your chest, the size/projection of the particular implant that is placed, whether the implant is placed above or below your pectoralis major muscle, etc. Any qualified Plastic Surgeon will discuss all of these issues with you after performing a thorough physical examination. READ MORE
What is a tummy tuck?
A “tummy tuck”(abdominoplasty) is an operation that addresses the concerns that many women have after the birth of their children - the excess skin is removed, the abdominal/flank fat is contoured and the rectus abdominus muscles that separate to accommodate a pregnancy are tightened. The procedure can be extensive depending on the individual patient but is generally very well tolerated. READ MORE
What are some of the possible side effects to a breast reduction surgery?
This procedure is generally very safe and patients generally are very happy with their overall results. However, like any other procedure, this surgery is not without complications such as numbness, tissue loss, delayed healing, asymmetries, etc. READ MORE
Are breast augmentations safe?
This surgery is generally very safe and diabetes should not impact your healing after this surgery. READ MORE
Breast augmentation infection?
You should contact your surgeon immediately! It is difficult to tell from the pictures and an exam by your surgeon would be much more informative. It is not normal to have that type of appearance around the incision at day 12 post-op. READ MORE
Medical breasts reduction?
I have seen a number of young teenage patients like you with similar symptoms and I personally have operated on patients as young as 13-14 in rare cases. Unfortunately, in my experience Insurance Companies these days are very reluctant to even consider coverage of this procedure in patients younger than 18. READ MORE
Is it better to lose weight before liposuction?
Absolutely. I generally advise patients who plan to lose any significant amount of weight to do that prior to any body contouring surgery. READ MORE
Does ear pinning surgery hurt?
There clearly is some discomfort following this procedure, but it is usually very controllable and limited in duration. The fact that you are 22 years old certainly is an issue. The best results with this procedure are usually achieved in younger patients (ages 7-10) where the ear cartilage is softer and more malleable. READ MORE
