Get to know Plastic Surgeon Dr. Gerald D. Garcia, who serves patients in Erie, Pennsylvania. 

Dr. Garcia is a board-certified plastic surgeon who is affiliated with UPMC Hamot in Erie, Pennsylvania. UPMC Hamot, formerly known as Hamot Medical Center, is a 446-bed hospital and a tertiary-care medical facility. It is one of the largest employers in the Erie region. The complex features several large buildings, including a heart institute.

Dr. Garcia is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is also a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. Dr. Garcia earned his medical degree from the Penn State College of Medicine in 1983. He then went on to complete his residency and fellowship at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. 

Dr. Garcia is board-certified in plastic surgery by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS). The ABPS is an independent, nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote safe, ethical, efficacious plastic surgery to the public by maintaining high standards for the education, examination, certification, and continuous certification of plastic surgeons as specialists and subspecialists.

Dr. Garcia is a member of the Aesthetic Society of Plastic Surgery and the Robert H. Ivy Society of Plastic Surgery. Dr. Garcia attributes his success to the people who taught him not only technical and intellectual skills throughout his residency, but also moral and ethical skills. In his spare time, he enjoys playing golf and tennis, boating, and swimming.
