He works as a general practitioner with special interests in detecting and treating skin cancers. Finding a Melanoma amongst a thousand moles is a day's work for him. It's very satisfying experience when you can cut out a Melanoma and cure the patient of the dreadful cancer, which is one of the most lethal form of cancer known to mankind. Risk of developing Melanoma remains very high in Australia, and unfortunately the rates are rising. It hence becomes imperative for most people to have once a year skin checks, which could be life saving for some. Other cancers like Squamous Cell Carcinomas (SCC) and Basal Cell Carcinomas (BCC) can be very debilitating as well. SCC still accounts for more deaths than Melanoma as it is more frequently found on the sun exposed parts of the body. He has a special interest in Anti Aging Medicine, which is a specialty in its own right. Finding the right balance between one's hormones, right kind of exercise, diet, skin care and anti oxidants are only a few things that will help us live longer and more importantly a longer independent and functional life.

Teaching and speaking
I teach General Practice registrars and medical students on a routine basis. I present case studies amongst colleagues and students regarding skin cancer medicine so that they can recognise the odd abnormal mole in between many normal looking moles. Also recognise the more common Basal Cell Carcinomas and Squamous Cell Carcinomas whilst conducting a skin cancer screening examination.
I have been examining general practice registrars during their college exams for the past many years now.
