Dr. Levin is a board-certified anesthesiologist & interventional pain medicine specialist who practices at the Pennsylvania Spine and Headache Center with locations throughout the state of Pennsylvania, including Philadelphia, Shamokin Dam, and Coatesville. He has extensive clinical experience and focuses his practice on the interventional treatment of complex pain syndromes and related disorders. He offers the most advanced interventional and related therapies to treat a wide variety of disorders. Many of his patients have come to him following years of suffering from a wide variety of pain syndromes which had previously been refractory to treatment.
As a skilled and experienced professional, Dr. Levin evaluates each patient very thoroughly and carefully to help determine appropriate treatment options in order to provide the most effective individualized care. These treatment options may include: lumbar, thoracic, and cervical epidural steroid injections utilizing targeted transforaminal techniques, lumbar and cervical sympathetic blocks, sphenopalatine, facial, head, and neck procedures, discography, percutaneous discectomy or disc decompression procedures, precision joint and nerve injections, radiofrequency neuroablative procedures, peripheral or spinal cord stimulator trials and implants, foraminoplasty, and several patented and patent-pending advanced interventional procedures.
Staying up-to-date in medical advancements and using state-of-the-art equipment, the doctor has developed and refined exciting new methods of migraine treatment and has a method, Mygaine, which can essentially cure migraines in a type of migraine found in 20-40% of patients who suffer from migraine headaches. This same modality is successful in 80% of patients with cluster headaches. He has also developed an interesting modality that is useful in treating certain types of chronic daily headache.
After earning his medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City, New York in 1984, Dr. Levin went on to complete his internship in internal medicine at Stamford Hospital, followed by his residency in anesthesiology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine/BMHC/Montefiore Hospitals. Following this, he completed a dual fellowship in obstetric anesthesiology and trauma anesthesiology at the University of Miami Jackson Memorial Center, as well as a fellowship in pain management at the New York University School of Medicine.
Noted for his achievements, he is board-certified in anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology, whose mission is to advance the highest standards of the practice of anesthesiology. He is also board-certified in pain medicine by the American Board of Pain Medicine, whose mission is to serve the public by improving the quality and availability of pain medicine services.
In order to stay active in his field, the doctor maintains membership status with several professional organizations, including the North American Spine Society and the Pennsylvania Medical Society.

Dr. Levin’s clinical interests include spinal degenerative diseases, headaches, complex pain syndromes following spinal surgery of the back or neck, bulging discs, herniated discs, facet joint disease, neuralgia, and complex regional pain syndromes, ie; RSD or CRPS, and numbness or weakness due to pathologies of the spine or nerves.
