  • Do I need a dental follow up after getting dental implants?

After a month things should be fine but you should find a dentist that will restore the implants with crowns and have him follow up. READ MORE

  • How do you stop your wisdom teeth from hurting?

Take them out! That certainly is an option. Another short term treatment is ibuprofen and salt water rinses. It really depends on their location, if they are impacted or just pushing on the gum. A visit to your dentist would be the best place to start. Feel better Dr David Wiseman READ MORE

  • Do I need a root canal if there's no pain?

Yes. We can see on X-rays areas of infection or decay that goes into the nerve of the tooth. Any of these reasons can necessitate a root canal. Not always does it have to hurt to need one Good luck Dr David Wiseman READ MORE

  • Can I drink water after wisdom teeth removal?

Sure can. Not with a straw. And it may be a bit difficult until the numbness goes away. Good luck Dr David Wiseman READ MORE

  • The tooth where I need a root canal isn't bothering me. Why do I need it?

Good Question! The short answer is the concern for future flare ups and pain. A necrotic or dead tooth is a breeding ground for bacteria and not the good kind. A root canal not treated could remain quiet for some time or could start to hurt when chewing or become tender or sensitive to heat. I understand the hesitation and it does give you the flexibility to choose when to treat the tooth. But a dead or dying tooth will not heal itself so it is only a matter of time until trouble comes to town. You should ask your current dentist your question to see what response you get. And you deserve to know why the tooth “ needs a root canal”. I routinely show my patients xrays and explain what is going on. There are times if a patient has no pain I may wait but that can only be determined with proper diagnostics. All the best Dr David Wiseman DDS FAGD READ MORE

  • Are braces the only way to fix buck teeth?

Typically braces or clear aligners is the best way to get rid of buck teeth. Sometimes cosmetic bonding or veneers can be used to give the appearance of less protruded smile. Many cosmetic enhancements can be done today that significantly improve smiles. You need a consult in the office to determine your best options. Best of luck Dr David Wiseman READ MORE

  • Is root canal the only way to treat a tooth cavity?

If the cavity is that large or the tooth already hurts to chew, then there really is no other way to treat. Sometimes a careful, but large filling would help the pain and solve the problem, but your dentist can tell how close the cavity is to the nerve. Good luck, Dr. David Wiseman READ MORE

  • Can a normal dentist replace my braces and filling?

Many dentist can replace the braces. Each case is unique. Depends on what is being replaced. One look and the dentist will be able to answer your question. All the best Dr David Wiseman READ MORE
