Luke A. Corsten received his doctorate of medicine in 1990 from the Medical College of Wisconsin. Thereafter, he served his surgical internship and neurosurgical residency at the University of Illinois in Chicago. Dr. Corsten is board-certified in neurosurgery from the American Board of Neurological Surgery and maintains professional membership with the Congress of Neurological Surgeons. He is a highly-trained and qualified neurosurgeon who has been practicing for over 14 years and is currently serving patients at The NeuroMedical Center Clinic located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The Center encompasses the region’s largest, most trusted team of experts for conditions pertaining to the brain, spine and nervous system. Furthermore, Dr. Corsten remains affiliated with Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center and Baton Rouge General Hospital. As a neurosurgeon, Dr. Corsten performs surgeries on the brain, spinal cord and peripheral nerves to remove tumors, treat vascular disorders and diseases, as well as alleviate chronic pain. He has vast experience in several aspects relating to his line of work, including minimally invasive spine surgery, complex spine surgery, complex vascular surgery, skull-based surgery, pituitary surgery, and more. Dr. Corsten attributes his success to his personal mission to care for patients, as well as to the excellent training he received from professors at the University of Illinois. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, cooking, and traveling.
