Upon graduating in 1976, he became the first dentist in the state of Kentucky to be board certified by the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine. In addition, he is a member of the American Dental Association, the Kentucky Medical Association, the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, and the US Air Force Academy Association of Graduates and was distinguished with a Dental Award in 2013.
