Jayanth G. Rao, FAAR, MD, MRCP, is a radiation oncologist at 21st Century Oncology and Florida Regional Cancer Center in Beverly Hills, Florida. A radiation oncologist is a specialist physician who uses ionizing radiation in the treatment of cancer. Radiation oncology is one of the three primary specialties, the other two being surgical and medical oncology, involved in the treatment of cancer. Dr. Rao is also affiliated with Seven Rivers Regional Medical Center and Citrus Memorial Hospital. He has 20 years of experience in his field and studied medicine at Osmania University, which he graduated 1971, where he also partially conducted his internship. He is board certified in geriatric medicine, medical oncology, internal medicine, and radiation oncology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Rao remains active in his challenging specialties as a member of the American Medical Association, the American College of Radiology, and the Radiological Society of North America. He is also a Master of the Royal College of Physicians.
