Steven W. Mamus, MD, is a nationally-recognized hematologist-oncologist with more than 28 years of experience in his field. He practices at the Cancer Center of Sarasota-Manatee in Sarasota, Florida, which he founded in 2006, and is also affiliated with Mercy Hospital Sarasota and Blake Medical Center. Dr. Mamus specializes in breast, lung, and prostate cancer. He was instrumental in the development of MD Anderson Cancer Center at Orlando where he served as chief of medical oncology and treated patients acutely affected by cancer for more than 10 years. Dr. Mamus received his MD from SUNY at Syracuse in 1980. He also graduated with honors from Harvard. He interned and completed his residency in internal medicine at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke?s Hospital and conducted his fellowship in hematology/oncology at the University of Minnesota Hospital. Dr Mamus was named a Top Physician by Best Doctors in America, Southeast Region and Attending Physician of the Year at Orlando Regional Medical Center. He is board certified in hematology, internal medicine, and medical oncology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is also a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Association for Cancer Research, and the American Society of Anesthesiologists.
