Dr. Vittorio is a board-certified attending cardiologist and the Director of the Cardiac Critical Care Unit with BronxCare Health System in the Bronx, New York. It is also among the largest providers of outpatient services in New York City, with more than one million visits annually and an ER that is one of the busiest in New York.
Over the years, Dr. Vittorio has gained valuable expertise through varying roles, including Assistant Professor of Medicine with the Albert Einstein College of Medicine at Yeshiva University, Director of Heart Failure Research at the St. Francis Hospital Heart Center and the Center for Advanced Cardiac Therapeutics, attending physician at Montefiore Medical Center, assistant attending physician at Tisch Hospital, as well as Associate Director of the Cardiac Care Unit at Bellevue Hospital Center, among other roles.
In regards to his education, he earned his Medical Degree from the Sackler Faculty of Medicine in Tel Aviv, Israel in 1996. Upon relocating to the United States, he went on to complete his internship and residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City, New York. This was followed by a postdoctoral fellowship at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons and a fellowship at St Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center.
The doctor is board-certified in advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine, a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world. Furthermore, he is a member of the Heart Failure Society of America, the International Society of Heart and Lung Transplantation, the American College of Physicians, and the Age Management Medicine Society.
