Jose A. Lazzarini, MD, has been a radiologist for more than 50 years. Radiology is a medical specialty that employs the use of imaging to both diagnose and treat disease visualized within the body. He studied medicine at the University of Madrid, in Spain, and graduated in 1961. He continued with his residency at Arecibo District Hospital, also in Spain, but then relocated to the United States where he completed his radiology residency at G.P. Wilson US Army Hospital, VA Medical Center. Board certified in radiology by the American Board of Radiology, Dr. Lazzarini maintains his professional memberships with the American Heart Association, the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography, Physician of Coral Gables, the Military Officers Association of America-Georgia Mountain Chapter, the American Legion, and Knights of Columbus. Over the course of his career, he received a Certificate from the US Army for Commanding the 820th Sta. Hospital in Borinquen at Ramey Air Force Base in Puerto Rico. He is also a Disabled American veteran and the honorable recipient of a Certificate of Appreciation from the US Army Freedom Team. He received the US Army Discharge from Medical Corps in 1968 and retired from US Army as Colonel in 1988. He often volunteers with Hands of Hope Clinic in Henry County.
