What do you attribute your success to?
At the age of 5, when asked "what do [I] want to be when [I] grow up", I replied "a doctor of children". God has remained the focus of my life as I dedicated it to realizing my dream of becoming a pediatrician. With God's guiding hand and my family's support, I am privileged to wake up every day to a rewarding career that is fulfilling. My medical training taught me how to treat different ailments; however, the experience of being a mother has provided me with insight and enabled me to relate to my parents with empathy when my patients are not cooperating with their treatment plan.
Philanthropic Initiatives
Recently I have been blessed to lead the medical team for ONE Community Church's fall 2014 mission trip to Jamaica. In addition to building homes for 2 deserving families, we will provide medical care to underserved residents.
Teaching and speaking
When possible, I love to engage preschool, elementary, and middle school students in the DFW area - feeding their love of knowledge as I explain my career choice and reinforce that anything is possible when you believe in yourself.
