Get to know Obstetrician-Gynecologist Dr. Cheri Coyle, who serves patients in Virginia.

Dr. Coyle is an experienced obstetrician-gynecologist at The Center for Women’s Health, seeing patients at the offices in Newport News and Hampton, Virginia. She specializes in high-risk obstetrics and urogynecology and has extensive training in laser and laparoscopic surgery.

The Center for Women’s Health provides comprehensive obstetrics and gynecology services to women of all ages. The experienced team of board-certified OB/GYNs and support staff offer patient-focused care that meets a woman’s health care needs at all stages of life. The women’s health specialists perform in-office procedures and surgery to diagnose and treat many gynecological conditions. They also offer onsite lab tests and ultrasounds.

Academically, Dr. Coyle completed her medical training and residency specializing in obstetrics and gynecology at Stony Brook University Hospital in New York. Since 1991, she has been in private practice in southeast Virginia, specifically, the Yorktown, Hampton, and Newport News areas.

A Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG), she is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The mission of the ABOG is to define specialty standards, certify obstetricians and gynecologists, and facilitate continuous learning to advance knowledge, practice, and professionalism in women’s health.

Obstetrics and gynecology (OB-GYN) is the medical specialty that encompasses the two subspecialties of obstetrics (covering pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period) and gynecology (covering the health of the female reproductive system – vagina, uterus, ovaries, and breasts).

As a mother of four successful children, three daughters and a son, Dr. Coyle brings a high level of expertise as a physician and as a mother to The Center for Women’s Health. She is very personable and has a solid reputation throughout the area, as well as a very strong following.

Outside of work, she loves eating seafood, traveling, and living an active lifestyle.
