Joan C. Wojak received her medical degree in 1983 from the New York University School of Medicine. Following her graduation, she completed her General Surgery internship at New York University, before undertaking her Neurosurgery residency at the same venue. She then underwent additional residency in Radiology, as well as a Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology fellowship at Louisiana State University. Dr. Wojak is board-certified in Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology by the American Board of Radiology. She maintains a professional membership with the American College of Radiology, the American Society of Neuroradiology, the American Society of Spine Radiology, the American Roentgen Ray Society, and the American Association of Neurological Surgeons/College of Neurological Surgeons, among others. She has also earned the coveted title of Fellow of the AHA Stroke Council. Dr. Wojak is a highly trained and qualified radiologist with over 30 years of experience and is currently serving patients within the Acadiana Radiology Group in Lafayette, Louisiana. She is also affiliated with Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center, Heart Hospital of Lafayette, Abbeville General Hospital, Regional Medical Center of Acadiana, and University Hospital & Clinics. Furthermore, Dr. Wojak is an Associate Professor of Radiology at Louisiana State University School of Medicine, and also serves as the Executive Director of the Acadiana Therapeutic Riding Organization. As a radiologist, Dr. Wojak is trained to execute and interpret medical images, such as X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, and ultrasounds and to use them to treat health problems in patients. She has extensive expertise in several areas relating to her line of work, especially diagnostic radiology and diagnostic interventional radiology. She attributes her success to her continued education, the intellectual curiosity in her upbringing, as well as her exposure to arts, literature, science, and travel. In her spare time, Dr. Wojak enjoys collecting stamps, breeding Thoroughbred horses, and showing hunter/jumper horses.
