Is it normal for a tooth to hurt after a filling?
It happens. If the cavity is deep and close to the nerve, the tooth can get sensitive and even painful. However, if you only feel it when you are chewing, it could be that the filing is high and over extended. The trauma from chewing can make the tooth sensitive and even painful. After my braces were taken off, my teeth became very sensitive.
