Dr. Jason M. Cuellar, MD, PhD, FAAOS
Orthopedist | Orthopaedic Surgery of the Spine
658 W Indiantown Rd Ste 212 Jupiter FL, 33458About
Dr. Jason M. Cuellar is a fellowship-trained, board-certified spinal surgeon practicing in Jupiter, Palm Beach Gardens and Miami, Florida.'
He completed his PhD at UC Davis in the field of molecular, cellular and integrative physiology and then attended Stanford University Medical School. After completing the MD program at Stanford he completed an orthopaedic surgery residency and NYU-Hospital for Joint Diseases, one of the top training programs in the country. He then completed a fellowship in spinal surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, one of the busiest spine centers in the country where he trained with both neurosurgeons and orthopaedic surgeons as mentors.
Dr. Cuellar then practiced for 7 years in Beverly Hills and Los Angeles with partner Dr. Todd H Lanman before relocating to south Florida in 2022 with his family.
He is a world expert in spinal arthroplasty - artificial disc replacement (ADR) also known as total disc replacement (TDR). He frequently teaches as faculty at international arthroplasty courses for other spine surgeons. His practice focuses on motion preservation (non-fusion) spinal surgery as he has a passion for helping patients maintain their spinal motion and achieve pain relief.

Can shoulder impingement improve on its own?
Yes. Try rotator cuff strengthening exercises, often times the pain can be a small rotator cuff tear rather than true impingement. Concentrated injection of A2M can also be helpful. https://cuellarspine.com/treatments/alpha-2-macroglobulin-injections/ READ MORE
What exercises are good for a disc hernia?
Cardio exercises without significant weight bearing - such as exercise bike, elliptical or swimming. Core strengthening like partial sit ups and planks Back extension exercises (Roman chair) Pilates READ MORE
EMG/NCS Test Question
Unfortunately EMG/NCV is not always a great test for ulnar neuropathy and the test can often be normal. That’s one reason the diagnosis of cubital tunnel syndrome is a clinical diagnosis not a electrical diagnosis usually. Furthermore, the test is very operator dependent and many neurologists cannot make the diagnosis even when the patient has significant ulnar nerve compression. READ MORE

Get to know Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Jason M. Cuéllar, who serves patients in Jupiter, Palm Beach Gardens, and Miami, Florida.
Dr. Cuéllar is a highly-trained, award-winning orthopedic surgeon who specializes in treating spinal disorders. As the Founder of Cuéllar Spine, he extends his services to patients across South Florida, maintaining offices in Jupiter, Palm Beach Gardens, and Miami.
Within the local medical community, Dr. Cuéllar is affiliated with esteemed institutions such as Jupiter Medical Center, HCA Florida JFK North Hospital, and HCA Florida Aventura Hospital. Furthermore, he conducts surgeries at the SurgCenter of Palm Beach Gardens, Miami Surgical Center, and Lake Worth Surgical Center in Florida, as well as at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
Prior to medical school, Dr. Cuéllar completed an Undergraduate Degree in Neurobiology, Physiology and Behavior at U.C. Davis, followed by a Ph.D. in Molecular, Cellular and Integrative Physiology, where he researched the mechanisms of pain and pain pathophysiology within the spinal cord.
His refined technical skills and knowledge make him one of the most sought-after spinal surgeons in the nation. Dr. Cuéllar is the product of one of the top, most competitive medical training programs in the United States: U.C. Davis and Stanford University Medical School. Throughout his medical school training, he continued to work in a pain research laboratory, completing post-doctoral research, and one year as a Medical Scholars Research Fellow.
Thereafter, Dr. Cuéllar completed his training in orthopedic surgery at the prestigious New York University-Hospital for Joint Diseases (NYU-HJD). During this 6-year training period, he treated patients at the two busiest level-1 trauma centers in New York state. He received training in spinal surgery from world-renowned scoliosis and deformity spinal surgeons, Drs. Thomas Errico, Frank Schwab and Peter Passias, among many others.
While at NYU-HJD, Dr. Cuéllar completed an extra year as a Musculoskeletal Research Fellow, performing both basic science and clinical research to advance the field of spine surgery and inflammatory cytokine research.
He completed his final year of training at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, in the spinal disorders fellowship, under the directorship of Dr. Hyun Bae and Neel Anand at The Spine Center. This was a combined neurosurgical and orthopedic spine fellowship.
A valuable asset to the field of orthopedics and spinal care, Dr. Cuéllar is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopedic residents and surgeons as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopedic surgeons.
On a professional level, Dr. Cuéllar is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (FAAOS) and a member of the North American Spine Society.
