I generally recommend carbonation-free liquid diet for a week and then graduate to soft foods. Continue with the acid reducing medication for at least a month and then ask your surgeon or gastroenterologist. He should notice the difference in his symptoms promptly. Yes unfortunately surgery is the only option to remove the gallbladder due to gallstones. The entire gallbladder is removed. Your doctor is correct it’s not urgent but it’s just a matter of time when it becomes symptomatic READ MORE

If your surgery is being done laparoscopically the incisions are very small, generally, the scarring is minimal. You can try applying some mederma cream once your surgeon okays it. READ MORE

The chances of getting a surgical site infection in an elective Bariatric surgery are exceptionally low. Most surgeons will see their patients back in a week post op and will look at the incisions.
