Dr. Santos Guzman is a board-certified pulmonologist dedicated to the diagnosis, treatment, and care of respiratory diseases such as asthma, emphysema, bronchitis, sleep apnea, and lung cancer. His focus is on diagnosing and developing a comprehensive treatment plan for the maintenance and well-being of each patient.
At present, he works with a team of professionals at his private practice in North Miami Beach, Florida and is honored to be involved in the process of protection of humans’ health.
In addition to treating ailments of the lungs and respiratory system, his practice includes a comprehensive sleep disorder center dedicated to the management of snoring, obstructive sleep apnea, sleep apnea syndromes, and insomnia. The Center also treats narcolepsy, restless leg syndrome, circadian rhythm disorders, jet lag, parasomnias, and REM behavior disorder.
A 1989 graduate of the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine, Dr. Santos Guzman went on to complete his residency in internal medicine and his fellowship in pulmonary disease at University Hospital-San Juan in 1993 and 1995, respectively. He then relocated to the United States and went into private practice.
With over three decades of experience in his field, he is board-certified in pulmonology, internal medicine, critical care medicine, and sleep medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
Distinguished as a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians (FCCP), Dr. Santos Guzman is an active member of the American Medical Association and the American Thoracic Society. He is also affiliated with several hospitals in his local area, including Memorial Hospital Miramar, Memorial Hospital Pembroke, Memorial Hospital West, and Memorial Regional Hospital.
