Dr. Furman is a pulmonary and critical care medicine physician. He is the owner of Lyracore – a practice that is dedicated to providing patients with compassionate, leading-edge care in both general and highly specialized pulmonary health. Dr. Furman and his team of specialists at Lyracore treat a wide variety of conditions, from those that affect well-being like sleep apnea and allergies, to emergent pulmonary conditions that require critical care services. “Launching Lyracore has given me the opportunity to practice medicine the way I believe it should be practiced: with compassionate communication and leading-edge research and techniques” said Dr. Furman. 

Dr. Furman is affiliated with multiple hospitals in the Tampa area, including Tampa General Hospital, Memorial Hospital of Tampa, Kindred Hospital Central Tampa, and St. Joseph’s Hospital – among others. 

Passionate for medicine from a young age, Dr. Furman received his medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine. He found his passion in pulmonology, aggressively pursuing advanced training and degrees in interventional pulmonary techniques and critical care medicine. He completed his residency at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital, followed by his fellowship training at the Wayne State University School of Medicine.

Dr. Furman is a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians, and a Fellow of the American College of Critical Care Medicine. He also holds professional memberships with the Society of Critical Care Medicine and the American Academy of Emergency Medicine. 

Pulmonology is a medical speciality that deals with diseases involving the respiratory tract. Intensive care medicine, or critical care medicine, is a branch of medicine concerned with the diagnosis and management of life-threatening conditions that may require sophisticated life support and intensive monitoring. As a pulmonary and critical care medicine physician, Dr. Furman remains dedicated to helping his patients alleviate their struggles with airway and lung maladies (sleep apnea, allergies, asthma, and more).
