Dr. Justin Cough is a practicing chiropractor and founder of Oviedo Chiropractic. As a graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic in Port Orange, FL, Dr. Cough is dedicated to serving the community through the education and treatment of musculoskeletal disorders. Dr. Cough takes pride in utilizing the most beneficial, evidence-based treatment strategies, tailored for each patient treated at Oviedo Chiropractic.
Dr. Cough was born and raised in a suburb of Syracuse, NY and received a BS of Education at the State University of New York at Oswego. After graduation he served the community teaching in both the middle school and high school levels. Throughout that time Dr. Cough also coached various sports including: Varsity and Junior Varsity Lacrosse, middle school football, basketball, track, & soccer. After five years of teaching Dr. Cough decided to change careers and join the wonderful field of chiropractic.
Dr. Cough focuses on the body’s natural healing mechanisms by working with the spine, extremities, biomechanics, mental, and nervous systems. With Dr. Cough’s background in teaching, he enjoys educating his patients about their condition, treatment, and wellness options to make the patient enjoy the upmost sustainability in their life.
Dr. Cough is an active member of many national and local organizations, which through continuing education, he learns about current and effective treatment options for athletes, accidents, disc herniation, headaches, radiculopathy, and simple musculoskeletal pain.

My daughter sits with her back slanted. How can her posture be corrected?
Many times especially in children they may have alignment issues that makes it very difficult for them to be able to hold an upright posture. Society right now allows for tablets, phones, etc starting at very young ages. This means that the body is trying to grow to adapt to these positions. Chiropractic treatment especially for pediatric patients will help adjust her spine into position and we can utilize some physiotherapy modalities to help strengthen the muscles in place so it can hold in place. Can vitamin deficiency cause muscle stiffness?
Yes, it may be a source of a vitamin deficiency. Muscles depend on potassium and magnesium in order to have proper contraction and relaxation. When these are not present then the muscle will not be able to have the proper contract/relax response. If the muscle is in severe spasm you may also be dehydrated as well. I have a problem with my posture that is causing back pain. What should I do?
Posture may be corrected with chiropractic treatments. When you have too much compression from poor sitting positions and the weight of gravity to our spine the nerves get irritated and that will also cause our muscles to shorten.
