Get to know Dentist Dr. John C. Castanaro, who serves patients in Yonkers, New York.

Dr. Castanaro is a dentist who is currently serving patients’ dental needs at Castanaro Dental in Yonkers, New York. He works alongside his father, Dr. Frank Castanaro, who founded the dental practice in 1982. Dr. Castanaro joined his father in 2009. “We strive to be simply the best family concierge dentist in Westchester County by not only providing extraordinaire care but also ensuring that we deliver state of the art preventive and restorative dental care in a relaxed, state of the art atmosphere” as stated on the practice’s website. 

Dr. Castanaro has had an interest in dentistry from a young age. Inspired by his father’s legacy in the field, following in his footsteps was an easy decision: “I was lucky. My dad is a dentist so it was a natural progression for me. I worked at his office as a kid and loved it. I decided to go to dental school after finishing my Master’s, and the rest is history” said Dr. Castanaro. 

After graduating from the University of Scranton with a bachelor’s degree in biology and philosophy, Dr. Castanaro went on to earn his master’s degree in biology from the University at Buffalo in 2003. He then went on to graduate Cum Laude from the University of Buffalo School of Dental Medicine in 2007. Thereafter, he accepted a residency position at Montefiore Medical Center where he was elected chief resident in 2008. He became skilled in implant and cosmetic dentistry.

Dr. Castanaro continues his education through advanced technical seminars. He strives to keep up with all the latest dental equipment and procedures, as well as to provide his patients with the best technology, products, and care. He also has the training to fix almost any dental problem a person could have, big or small. 

Dr. Castanaro is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD). The AACD is dedicated to advancing excellence in the art and science of comprehensive cosmetic dentistry and encouraging the highest standards of ethical conduct and responsible patient care.

Dr. Castanaro attributes his success to his love for dentistry and his commitment to helping people to look and feel their best. His hobbies include skiing and racing cars.

Dentistry, also known as Dental and Oral Medicine, is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity. As a dentist, Dr. Castanaro is responsible for diagnosing oral diseases, as well as promoting oral health and disease prevention. Additionally, he looks for abnormalities within the mouth such as lumps, swelling or discoloration, and performs necessary diagnostic procedures to diagnose and treat these abnormalities.
