Orthopaedic surgery is the branch of surgery concerned with conditions involving the musculoskeletal system. Orthopaedic surgeons use both surgical and nonsurgical means to treat musculoskeletal trauma, spine diseases, sports injuries, degenerative diseases, infections, tumors, and congenital disorders. They work in clinical and hospital settings.
On a more personal note, Dr. Shriwise and his wife of 25 years, Celina, have three children. They lived in Atchison for 15 years, where he practiced solo until joining Dickson-Diveley. They enjoy volunteering to provide medical care to the underserved, including in Honduras in January of 2012. They like to travel to Canada to visit his wife’s family whenever possible.
