Dr. Joukova is board-certified in both internal medicine and cardiovascular disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
Dr. Joukova earned her medical degree from the First Moscow State Medical University in Moscow, Russia in 1981. She then went to complete her residency in internal medicine at Pennsylvania Hospital, University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Joukova also completed the Cardiology Fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine, Methodist Hospital, Houston, Texas, and UT Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas, Texas. In 1992 Dr. Joukova was honored with the Molecular Cardiology Fellowship by Merck Foundation.
