Get to know General Surgeon Dr. Eugene Zurkovsky, who serves patients in New Jersey. 

Dr. Zurkovsky, a successful general surgeon, provides quality surgical service for gravely ill or injured patients and is able to respond quickly due to knowledge of various surgical procedures. He is in practice with Atlantic Shore Surgical Associates with offices in Brick and Eatontown, New Jersey.

The team of experts at Atlantic Shore Surgical Associates provide compassionate care and remain dedicated to quality results. Some of the services that they offer include: laparoscopic/minimally invasive/robotic surgery, weight loss/bariatric surgery, breast surgery, colorectal surgery, oncologic surgery, as well as head and neck surgery. 

Throughout his academic career, Dr. Zurkovsky completed his Bachelor of Science degree at Hofstra University, graduating with High Honors and as a member of Beta Beta Beta and Alpha Epsilon Delta. During that time, he also participated in research in vascular and microsurgery at Englewood Hospital. 

Thereafter, he went on to receive his medical degree from the Sackler School of Medicine – New York State/American Program in Tel Aviv, Israel. He spent time doing research in minimally invasive surgery at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, and completed his residency in general surgery at Morristown Memorial Hospital.

Specializing in minimally invasive and robotic surgery, Dr. Zurkovsky is board-certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery (ABS). The ABS is an independent, non-profit organization located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, founded for the purpose of certifying surgeons who have met a defined standard of education, training, and knowledge. 

Licensed to practice medicine in New Jersey, he is affiliated with Hackensack Meridian Jersey Shore University Medical Center, the Center for Robotic Surgery at Ocean Medical Center, and Community Medical Center. 

General surgery is a surgical specialty that focuses on abdominal contents including the esophagus, stomach, small bowel, colon, liver, pancreas, gallbladder, appendix and bile ducts, and often the thyroid gland. A general surgeon performs a wide range of abdominal surgeries for many forms of intestinal and abdominal wall neoplasms, gallbladder disease, gastric and pancreatic disease. They follow the patient through critical care and surgical recovery all the way to outpatient care. 

On a more personal note, Dr. Zurkovsky speaks several languages, including English, Russian, and Hebrew.
