Abeer Syal, MD, maintains a position as an orthopedic surgeon with his own private practice, Dr. Abeer Syal Inc, based out of Langley, British Columbia. Dr. Syal earned his Bachelor of Science degree at Cumberland University in Tennessee, and is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario School of Medicine in London, Ontario in 2003. He completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 2008 and completed a fellowship at the University of British Columbia in Reconstructive Arthroscopic Surgery & Joint Preservation in Vancouver, BC in 2009. Dr. Syal worked throughout Canada from 2009 to 2011 as a locum orthopaedic surgeon, gaining work experience and expertise in both orthopaedic trauma, arthroscopy, and arthroplasty surgery. Dr. Syal is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada. He is an active member of the Canadian Orthopaedic Association, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Arthroscopy Association of North America, the Canadian Medical Association, and the Doctors of BC (BCMA).Dr. Syal is currently the Division Head of Orthopaedics at LMH, has privileges at both Langley Memorial Hospital and Langley Surgical Centre, and is an active staff member in the Department of Surgery. Dr. Syal provides orthopaedic care to both the immediate Fraser Valley and the surrounding Lower Mainland communities. In addition to general orthopaedic surgery Dr. Syal has subspeciatly interest and expertise in sports medicine with arthroscopic reconstructive surgery of the knee & shoulder, upper extremity trauma surgery, knee & shoulder joint replacement, and regenerative orthopaedics.
