At the start of her academic career, Dr. Danastor completed her undergraduate degree with honors at the University of Florida. Coming for a family of medical professionals, she earned her medical degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine where she was inducted in the Gold Humanism Honor Society and received the 2014 Hippocratic Award. She then completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at St. Vincent Women’s Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana where she received the prestigious AAGL Outstanding Resident in Minimally Invasive Gynecology Award. 

During her time at the University of Florida College of Medicine, Dr. Danastor learned about medical work opportunities in developing countries such as Haiti, which helped change her mind about a career in women’s health. “In third-world countries, women fill a major role. That’s an awesome thing to take care of people who take care of society. And here I am, years later, not wanting to be like my dad but doing what my dad did. I came to terms with it. Now it’s OK.”
