Most often , the teeth need to be reduced in order to cover very dark colors or improve the shape. When this done, you now have restorations that need to be maintained for life, and probably replaced at dome point. If bm eneers are being solely for the purpose of getting straighter looking teeth, then one should have orthodontic treatment and avoid the veneeres. How many times do I have to brush my teeth with Invisalign?
At least two times, but three is better, or after each time you eat. You can’t over do the brushing. You should not wear the trays of you have not at least thoroughly rinsed after eating. Brushing would be better. READ MORE
Can fluoride treatment reverse cavities?
Floride can make the teeth more resistant to dacay and can retard ,or stop, the progression of decay. However, once the enamel and/or dentin is damaged, ithey fo fon grow back. Once a cavitt has penetrated the enamel and progressed into the dentine, the cavith should be restored. READ MORE
How long is the healing for a root canal?
That depends on several factors. Once the canal is completely sealed and tge finsl restoration is placed, you should be comfortable. If there was a large radiolucuncy around thd tip of the root , it could take 3-4 months for the bone to refill the area. Do cavity fillings weaken teeth?
It is the decay that weakens the tooth. A “filling” is done to replace the pert ion of the tooth that has been damaged by the decay. Some types of restorations actually add strength back to the tooth. But , the tooth must be restored if there is decay. Otherwise the decay will progress weakening the tooth and eventually cause death of the nerve and loss of the tooth. Most dentures eventually need adhesive as the ridges shrink, which they do over time. For this reason , dentures need to be relied or rebased periodically. Dr. Box is a general dentist who is currently serving patients’ dental needs at his private dental practice, Infinity Dental & Laser Center located in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Infinity Dental & Laser Center is a family dental practice that welcomes patients in every stage of life from childhood through the senior years. Since the practice’s opening 1976, Dr. Box and his team of professionals have remained dedicated to helping patients improve their dental health and overall well-being. “Our goal is to build long-lasting, positive relationships with our patients and between team members — this helps us continually provide excellent, quality general and cosmetic dentistry services. After earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the Texas A&M College of Dentistry in 1975, he opened his practice in Fayetteville in January of 1976.
Dr. Box has been active in many community services since opening his practice, including the free clinic at Fayetteville High West Campus for 25 years. He also volunteers at the Washington County Free Clinic.
