How long does the pain last after a dental implant surgery?
It depends on the scope of the procedure, but 12-24 hrs is not uncommon, but sometimes it can be 3-4 days. Most single implants have the same ,or less, recovery time and experience as the original tooth removal. READ MORE

Can I get a dental filling while pregnant?
Yes. It is customary to wait until mid term, however, because the first trimester is the most critical. But, if you are having pain or infection , it needs to be taken care of now. READ MORE
What are the disadvantages of getting veneers?
Most often , the teeth need to be reduced in order to cover very dark colors or improve the shape. When this done, you now have restorations that need to be maintained for life, and probably replaced at dome point. If bm eneers are being solely for the purpose of getting straighter looking teeth, then one should have orthodontic treatment and avoid the veneeres. Usually, but the process may weaken the porcelain if it is not an all metal crown. Usually a new crown is recommended to be certain there is not decay inside, READ MORE

Yes. Most teeth that require ectraction can be done with local anesthetics . Oral and IV sedatives are used to control anxiety , but local anesthics are given with then to anesthitize the site. READ MORE

I suggest you follow your doctor’s instructions. Follow through with whatever treatment has been recommended to eliminate the problem. I assume your were given the antibiotics to get rid of the acute infection, but if you do not get the treatment prescribed to eliminate the source of the infection, It will return. READ MORE
How many times do I have to brush my teeth with Invisalign?
At least two times, but three is better, or after each time you eat. You can’t over do the brushing. You should not wear the trays of you have not at least thoroughly rinsed after eating. Brushing would be better. READ MORE
Can fluoride treatment reverse cavities?
Floride can make the teeth more resistant to dacay and can retard ,or stop, the progression of decay. However, once the enamel and/or dentin is damaged, ithey fo fon grow back. Once a cavitt has penetrated the enamel and progressed into the dentine, the cavith should be restored. READ MORE
How long is the healing for a root canal?
That depends on several factors. Once the canal is completely sealed and tge finsl restoration is placed, you should be comfortable. If there was a large radiolucuncy around thd tip of the root , it could take 3-4 months for the bone to refill the area. Sometimes, an apicoectomy( root tip amputation) is needed to get final healing. READ MORE

Most often Penicillin. PenVK or Amoxicillin. Clindamycin may be used for Penicillin resistant infections or in Patients allergic to Penicillin Cephalosporins (Keflex) is used also if Penicillin foes not work well. READ MORE

Do cavity fillings weaken teeth?
It is the decay that weakens the tooth. A “filling” is done to replace the pert ion of the tooth that has been damaged by the decay. Some types of restorations actually add strength back to the tooth. But , the tooth must be restored if there is decay. Otherwise the decay will progress weakening the tooth and eventually cause death of the nerve and loss of the tooth. Once the nerve is dead, then the tooth needs a root canal and crown in order to save it. The strongest tooth is one that never has decay. READ MORE
Do upper dentures need adhesive?
Most dentures eventually need adhesive as the ridges shrink, which they do over time. For this reason , dentures need to be relied or rebased periodically. However, a new upper denture may not need adhesive for at least a year. Another contributing factor is the shape of the palate. Dr. Box is a general dentist who is currently serving patients’ dental needs at his private dental practice, Infinity Dental & Laser Center located in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Infinity Dental & Laser Center is a family dental practice that welcomes patients in every stage of life from childhood through the senior years.
