  • 2020 - The beginning of change

The Paris Climate treaty was developed in the early 2000s through the United Nation, and a bill signed in 2015. Set to start in 2020 and China had 10 years after to stop polluting. Always wondered why before! This bill has not so much to do with polluting yet it's a bill of a socialistic agenda...

  • My son watches the same movie over and over

Do not worry about that. At his age he is between the Disney channel and Disney Junior channel. If you want, you can purchase or download other films and shows. Even if he says no, he will eventually watch the other ones and maybe get hooked on something different. So don't worry about him watching the same film over and over. It probably comforts him in a way and their concentration span is undeveloped at that age and that will absolutely do no harm. Enjoy him at that early age, they grow up so fast. READ MORE

  • Can I go to a psychiatrist instead of a psychologist?

Psychiatrist are usually very busy and will see you only for a short time. Many complain about Psychiatrist over therapist or Psychologist. Psychiatrist are medical doctors and specialize in psychiatrics, but Psychologist are doctors of the behavioral side of the human brain. They are better equipped with mental health and psychotherapy. Just don't tell them I said that. lol....They are better at the medical departments of the human body then myself, but I am a doctor of psychology and they are a doctor of medicine. READ MORE

  • My son has Asperger's Syndrome. How is it treated?

My experience part depends on the person, but patience is the key and not to push them to be more social and emotional towards certain things and manners. Just love them and ,let them know you love them, Care for them and watch them grow. At a teenager, they can get jobs and become more social and enjoy life just like everyone else, just a bit different, that's all. READ MORE

  • Patient privacy when it's a child being seen

The therapist or psychiatrist, etc. should tell you what is going on and what is needed. If they don't, then ask them and if they still wont, then get another therapist or psychiatrist. A psychiatrist is often very busy and doesn't have the time as a therapist will have. Plus a psychiatrist is more apt to give out medications and have a therapist provide therapy. READ MORE

  • How important is having friends?

Don't worry, some children tend to be happier to themselves at certain ages. Depression and other disorders start to come about from her age to late teens and more. Just watch her in the next few years to see if she hides in her room and avoids people her own age or any other age. READ MORE

  • Depression and Alcohol..Chicken or the egg?

Sure that may help, but Medical doctors and Psychiatrist hand out medication like candy at times. I would maybe try the medication and seek a therapist at the same time. The therapist will open up your mind and options and let you help yourself, instead of being dependent on a mentor from AA or any other organization. Most Alcoholics are depressed and use alcohol as medication or a stimulant. READ MORE

  • Looking for help with my teenage daughter

Absolutely not. Let her grow on her own for right now. 14 is when things change for the females. They become closer to their fathers and blame things on their mothers. Not to worry, that changes and they become closer to their mothers around 18 or so. A Psychiatrist might put them on medication that they really don't need. This is a time when they need a little freedom and they need to spread their wings a bit. That doesn't mean you can't discipline them. You can of course but you as a parent needs to change things a bit. Don't be afraid to talk to them now as adults and give them choices. I hope this has helped you. Thank you! READ MORE

  • Dealing with pain anxiety depression

I am a psychologist not a medical doctor, so if you are in need of that, I could not help. I do know that Florida is new to the canabis treatments and you might have to venture upon it yourself. I am in pinellas county and I do know of a canabis store located on central pinellas. Not quite sure where, but you can google it and most likely find it and others. It really seems to help some individuals and there are different types of taking it, from foods to drinks to typical smoking it. I have a good friend of mine who lives up north and started smoking canabis fir his anxieties and he claimed it helps him. If you are ever in need of counseling or a therapist, I am here to try and help. READ MORE
