Arup Maitra received his medical degree in 1982 from the Armed Forces Medical Center in his native country of India. He then relocated to the United States, where he completed his internship at Lincoln Hospital, followed by his residency at New York Medical College. Dr. Maitra is board certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology by the prestigious American Board of Internal Medicine. He is a highly-qualified nephrologist who has been practicing for over 20 years and is currently serving patients at Renal Consultants In. in Canton, Ohio. Dr. Maitra is affiliated with Aultman Hospital, Mercy Medical Center, Union Hospital, and Affinity Medical Center. In addition to his clinical work, he serves as an Associate Professor at Northeast Ohio Medical University in Rootstown, Ohio, and is a Local Public Speaker. Nephrology is a specialty of medicine and pediatrics that concerns itself with the kidneys. As a nephrologist, Dr. Maitra is trained to assess kidney function, treat kidney disease and preserve kidney health with the help of diet, medications, and treatments, such as renal replacement therapy.
