Get to know Gastroenterologist Dr. Ahsan Bhatti, who serves patients throughout the State of Minnesota.

One of the most experienced gastroenterologists in Minnesota, Dr. Bhatti works with patients at his private practice – Bhatti GI Consultants – with office locations in Chaska and Edina, and a satellite location within the St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Shakopee.

With more than 40,000 advanced endoscopic procedures, he specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of digestive diseases including gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), heartburn, Barrett’s Esophagus, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), constipation, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), gallstones, Hepatitis C, jaundice, diseases of the liver, pancreatic disorders, as well as chest and abdomen cancer diagnosis and staging.

In regards to his educational background, Dr. Bhatti graduated with his medical degree from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. He then went on to complete his internship, residency in internal medicine, and fellowship in gastroenterology at the same educational venue. He completed an additional fellowship in both gastroenterology and hepatology at Pennsylvania State University.

A member of the American Gastroenterological Association, the doctor is board-certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Among his other roles, Dr. Bhatti can be found on staff at Regions Hospital, Rice Memorial Hospital, Fairview Ridges Hospital, Fairview Southdale Hospital, Maple Grove Hospital, and North Memorial Health Hospital. In the past, has served as the Chief of Gastroenterology Department and the Secretary of the Board of Directors at Affiliated Community Medical Center in Willmar, Minnesota. He was also a senior member of the Board of Willmar Medical Services.

Gastroenterology is the branch of medicine focused on the digestive system and its disorders. A gastroenterologist is a physician who has extensive training in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders related to the esophagus, stomach, small intestines, colon, liver, pancreas, and biliary system.

As a testament to his success, Dr. Bhatti has been the recipient of the Patients’ Choice Award (2014, 2011, 2009, 2008), On-Time Doctor Award (2014), and Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2011).
