Get to know Internal Medicine & Interventional and General Nephrologist Dr. Damodar Reddy Kumbala, who serves the population of New Orleans, Louisiana. Dr. Kumbala is a highly trained and qualified internal medicine physician and interventional and general nephrologist with a vast expertise in all facets of his work. Dr. Kumbala has been in practice for more than 19 years and is currently serving patients at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dr. Kumbala graduated with his Medical Degree in 1996 from BLDE University Shri B M Patil Medical College Hospital & Research Centre in India. Upon relocating to the United States, Dr. Kumbala served his Internal Medicine residency at The Jewish Hospital – Mercy Health, followed by his fellowship in Nephrology at Tulane University School of Medicine, and his Interventional Nephrology fellowship at the Dialysis Access Institute. Furthermore, Dr. Kumbala is board certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology by the American Board of Internal Medicine, he is certified by the American Society of Diagnostic and Interventional Nephrology, and has also earned the coveted title of Fellow of the American Society of Nephrology. To keep up to date with the latest advances and developments in his field, Dr. Kumbala maintains a professional membership with the American Society of Diagnostic and Interventional Nephrology. Dr. Kumbala is the recipient of the American Heart Association New Investigator Travel Award, and attributes his great success to his hard work. When he is not assisting patients, Dr. Kumbala enjoys traveling. Internal Medicine is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases.
